A new event is sure to spook in downtown York. The Ghoulish Gala is set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum, 217 W. Princess St., York. According to the event site, it will include a harvest-themed menu, games, local beer and wine and a silent auction.
Familiar faces from around the region will compete in a “Dancing with the Stars” contest. Seriously, if you ever wanted to see State Rep. Kevin Schreiber tango with York City Police Chief Wes Kahley, this is your chance. Anyone can make a donation as a vote for their favorite dancing duo ahead of time here. ($1 = one vote) Other competitors include State Rep. Mike Regan, District Attorney Tom Kearney and staffers from Fox 43. People can cast votes for the dancers at the event as well.
Guests can wear casual attire or costumes. There will be prizes for the best get-ups. Tickets are $75 per person or $140 per couple. The event site states that profits from the gala and from votes “will help support children in need and provide education and advocacy regarding the prevention of child abuse.”
